Sweet Freedom Mystery - Intro/Fabric Requirements and...

As promised, it's MIDNIGHT 'somewhere' of December 31, 2019, and it's time to release the fabric colors/yardage requirements for our Sweet Freedom Mystery so, without further ado - here you go!
  1. White/neutrals = 2 yards
  2. Red = 1 3/4 yards, includes enough for binding
  3. Blue = 2 1/4 yards  (can be a solid or print)
  4. Patriotic fabric scraps = 3/4 yard of various coordinating fabric prints/scraps at least 2 1/2" wide in various lengths will work great!
  5. Patriotic Fabric Panel = 24" x 44", I'm using one from Timeless Treasures/Stars & Stripes Pledge of Allegiance, but ANY patriotic fabric panel w/similar measurements will work!
  6. *Backing fabric & batting = enough to finish your quilt.  This finished quilt size fits within the parameters of what we typically use for a Quilt Of Honor.  Those quilt size requirements may be found by following this direct web link  http://www.quiltsofhonor.org/quilters/
You may use ANY combination of white on white, plain white, and/or a combination - ALL will work with this mystery!

Reds - I'm using a darker red, taking my color queue from my fabric panel but, once again, ANY Red will work

Blues - a darker blue print w/stars for my quilt that coordinates with this patriotic panel, choose a pretty blue for your quilt!

The Timeless Treasures fabric panel I've chosen to use for this Sweet Freedom Mystery:

And because I received a NEW AccuQuilt Go! Studio cutter as an early Christmas present, I will be using a few Go! dies for this Sweet Freedom Mystery.  You may use whichever cutting method brings you the same cutting results...NO worries!

AccuQuilt Go! Dies:

Flying Geese Go! die #55456

...in addition to the flying geese die (above), will also be using the following 'strip' dies, which are too large to photograph properly:
  • 2 1/2" (2" finished) strip die
  • 1 1/2" (1" finished) strip die
These strip dies are available singly and in bundles at various online/offline retailers, including at the AccuQuilt site:  www.AccuQuilt.com for additional info.

Please Note:  ALL fabric requirements are given as a 'rough estimate' considering the various cutting methods that may be utilized by different sewers/quilters.  Please allow an additional 1/4 yard of fabric for each given fabric color option IF you choose different cutting methods...Thank YOU and don't forget to have FUN gathering up/shopping for your Sweet Freedom Mystery fabrics!
