Clue #5 of our Sweet Freedom Mystery is HERE!

Welcome to Clue #5 of our Sweet Freedom Mystery!

Our final clue until the Big Reveal on Friday, February 14, 2020!

Fabric Units Required:
  • Fifty-six (56) Blue/White 3 ½" x 6 ½” Flying Geese units from Clue #2

(56) Flying Geese units
Sew:
  • Sixteen (16) Blue/White 3 ½" x 6 ½”  Flying Geese end-to-end = (8) flying North, (8) flying South... Make a Total of two (2) 3 ½" x 48 ½” Flying Geese strip units
  • Twelve (12) Blue/White 3 ½" x 6 ½”  Flying Geese end-to-end = (6) flying North, (6) flying South... Make a Total of two (2) 3 ½" x 36 ½” Flying Geese strip units
Detailed Sewing Instructions:
Sew four (4) pairs of Blue/White 3 ½" x 6 ½” Flying Geese together - lining up centers and seam allowances, sew with Blue geese 'facing' each other:

Flying Geese pairs sewn together

Next:  Create two (2) Blue/White 3 ½" x 48 ½” Flying Geese strip units, using two (2) of the previously sewn Flying Geese units.

Sew:
Sixteen (16) Flying Geese end-to-end = eight (8) Flying Geese flying North and eight (8) Flying Geese flying South, don't forget to keep your two center Flying Geese 'facing' each other.

Sewing Tip:
Sew each Flying Geese strip unit chain-piecing style, alternating units until you reach the desired length per unit - ensure your Flying Geese fly in the correct direction ;-)  Use your feed dogs on your sewing machine to help 'ease in' any fullness/uneven Flying Geese units, by placing the 'fullest' side next to your feed dogs while sewing.

Make two (2) of these Flying Geese units = thirty-two (32) Flying Geese total used in this step.

First Blue/White 3 ½" x 48 ½” Flying Geese strip unit - Make two (2)

Blue/White Flying Geese units sewn end-to-end:

Pressing Tip:
Press the seams of each sewn Flying Goose w/point/beak of the goose facing 'away' from the point/beak, and towards the bottom/widest part of the Blue Goose:

Next:
Make two (2) more Blue/White Flying Geese units each measuring 3 ½" x 36 ½”.  Repeat the process - using the remaining two (2) Blue/White Flying Geese units of the previously sewn Flying Geese 'paired' units for the centers of each unit AND twelve (12) Flying Geese units sewn end-to-end for each strip unit for a Total of twenty-four (24) Flying Geese units.
