Sweet Freedom Mystery Launches for 2020!

Welcome to our inaugural Sweet Freedom Mystery quilt project designed to honor one or more of our Combat Veterans or Service Members for their service and sacrifice for our country..

This Sweet Freedom Patriotic Mystery quilt pattern is being provided F R E E as a courtesy to those interested in creating a 'Quilted Hug of Gratitude' to be completed and awarded to a Combat Veteran or Service Member during calendar year 2020.

This 2020 Sweet Freedom Mystery will 'officially' begin @ Midnight on December 31, 2019, when fabric colors/requirements will be announced, along with a few construction surprises.

Our first Sweet Freedom Mystery Clue will be released 'around MIDNIGHT' on January 14, 2020.

The BIG Reveal will be February 14, 2020!

This Sweet Freedom Patriotic Mystery promises to be FUN, while creating & sewing a beautiful Quilt Of Honor for one or more of our Combat Vets...Enjoy!

Clue #1 of our Sweet Freedom Mystery is HERE!

Are YOU ready? Ready to get started cutting/sewing on some Stunning Stars? Our January 2022 Sweet Freedom Mystery includes Stars - LOTS of 6" ( FINISHED in the quilt 'after' ALL the seam allowances have been sewn), which makes them 6 1/2" prior to being sewn into our quilt = I refer to this measurement as 'in-the-raw' .   Our 'We The People' panel quilt includes twenty-six (26) TOTAL of these 6" Sawtooth Stars. These are 6 1/2" in-the-raw Sawtooth Stars.  AccuQuilt GO! dies will be used throughout our Mystery Adventures whenever possible for cutting blocks.  The speed/accuracy provided by these cutting dies, IMHO, is second to none.  This is very much a personal preference - to each her/his own.  We will also include a direct web link to another alternative method for creating our Sawtooth Stars later in this blog post. Clue #2 - Square Up/Sash

Clue #2 of our February Sweet Freedom Mystery is ready! But first - time to square-up your panel(s) and add Red border sashings: Squared-up/Bordered out Prior to adding ANY borders, first things First.  IF you haven't already, now is the time to square-up/press your patriotic panel. Trimming the panel side Selvage panel trim Top/selvage trim Time to press w/Best Friend: Pressing is the Best w/Mary Ellen's ;-) Now that everything has been trimmed/squared & pressed, time to add some border sashing. I chose to add 2 1/2" in-the-raw (2" FINISHED) Red Star border sashing strips to each side of my panel - From my Red Star fabric I cut: (4) Four 2 1/2" Red Star fabric GO!
